UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

Uncountable Noun means nouns which we cannot really count, for example, salt, rice, money, time, sugar and others.

Determiners can be used and they was added before the nouns. They are, a little, much, too much, a large amount of, a small amount of, and others.

Examples:

 1) There is only a little salt left in the bottle.

 2) I am afraid I ate too much rice for lunch.

 3) A large amount of money was found under the bed.

 4) We still have plenty of time.

 5) The students brought a lot of sugar for the party.

Making Uncountable Nouns become countable.

Basically, Uncountable Nouns can be countable by putting countable expression in front of the nouns.

For example:

  > A piece of information.

  > 2 glasses of water.

  > 10 liters of coffee.

  > Three grains of sand.

  > A pane of glass.

Sometimes, the same noun can be countable and uncountable, often with a change of meaning.
